Dear Mr. President:
I am very concerned that our government -- despite recent genuine and heartfelt statements
by our elected representatives -- does not fully understand a fundamental truth.
We must not engage in "relationships" with terrorists, their sponsors
or their protectors. To that end, it grieves me greatly to hear that we are asking
the Taliban to deliver bin Laden. If they hand over bin Laden, we give them legitimacy.
Who will they support or give safe haven to next? Look how they treat their own
people.
No - no - we must END relationships with both terrorists and their sponsors. That
is best accomplished by utterly EMASCULATING both the Taliban and bin Laden network
(not the citizens of Afghanistan). Such emasculation must also be aimed at the governments
and terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq and Libya. To do otherwise is to court continued
atrocities such as that committed this past Tuesday. And we don't want that on OUR
hands.
To be effective, this requires a far more clever approach than blowing up infrastructure
and a far more effective approach than the economic sanctions taken to date. Let
us target and emasculate our true enemies which are not the citizens of Afghanistan
or any other county. Surely, we can be competent and truly effective in this. The
future of our civilization depends upon it.
Sincerely,
Rod Jenkins
