A MACHINE

  

I am like a machine:

I exist, I act, I produce effects, I have a purpose;

And as the machine is not conscious of its purpose,

I am not conscious of mine.

But, I am different from a machine . . .

For a machine's purpose can be defined by its actions and effects produced.

Can mine?
